  	Victor D. Newman, 87, of Kingston, formerly of Weymouth and Corbin, Ky., died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at Wingate at Silver Lake in Kingston. The son of the late Herbert and Edith (Storm) Newman, he was born in Irvine, Ky., Nov. 16, 1924. Victor proudly served in the Navy during World War II and was later employed in data processing at Electro Switch in Weymouth. He was a member of the Braintree DAV and was an avid sports fan. Husband of the late Angela M. (Sacco) Newman, he is survived by two children, David Newman and his wife Barbara of Kingston and Barbara Murphy and her husband Matthew of Hanson. He was the brother of Violet Meadors and Marcie Douglas both of Dayton, Ohio, and Velma White of Corbin, Ky. Also survived by three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held Sept. 25, in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St., at the corner of Rte. 14 and 58, in Hanson, at 12:30 p.m. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
