Betty Lou McGeorge, age 69, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Gulf Coast Region Medical Center in Florida. Betty loved her family deeply and they were the light of her life. Betty's laughter and humorist spirit will forever live on. Betty was an artist that loved to paint and write poetry. Betty enjoyed playing bingo with anyone willing to partake, which allowed for so many lives touched both near and far. However, anyone that knew Betty, would quickly share that her greatest love, friend, and success in life, was her loving son, Newt.
She was born October 15, 1951 in Middlesboro, Ky. She was a member of Bennetts Fork Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late General Elven and Martha Caroline Webb of Middlesboro, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Marion "Colby" Webb of Fort Wayne, IN and Charles "Chip" Webb of Middlesboro, KY.
Left to cherish her memory, her husband of 49 years, Newt McGeorge Sr.; son, Newt (Monica) McGeorge Jr; granddaughter, Mackenzie Treece and great granddaughter, Ivy Pierce of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Ruth Robertson of Middlesboro, KY and Wanda (Lonnie) Strunk of Maynardville, TN; brothers, General Webb of Middlesboro, KY and Jay P. (Debbie) Webb of Fort Wayne, IN.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses, doctors, and medical staff that cared for her at Gulf Coast Region Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Beason presiding. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Lawrence McGeorge, Mike Standifer, John Robertson, Mike Webb, Chuck Webb, and Darrel Webb.
