  	ZAVALLA - Services for Bernice Hale Culver, 73, of Zavalla were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 1995, at the Lakewood Baptist Church in Zavalla with Pastor Lyle Hern officiating. Burial followed in the Zavalla City Cemetery in Zavalla. Mrs. Culver died Jan. 9 at Angelina Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lufkin. A native of Wheeler, TX, she lived in Leesville, LA before moving to Zavalla 19 years ago and was a retired budget analyst for the Federal Civil Service Department of the Army in Fort Polk, LA. Survivors include her husband, Vernon Culver, Sr., of Zavalla; daughter, Frances Linthicum of Houston; two sons, Vernon Culver, Jr., of Zavalla and Lee Culver of Sour Lake; and three sisters, Ethel Howell of Midland, Baylor Blair of Hot Springs Village, AR, and Margie Peyton of Chandler; one brother, Robert Hale of Chandler; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Pallbearers were Ron S. White, James Caraway, Burl Caraway, Richard Riley, George A. Chute, and Mark Hale. Riley Funeral Home of Woodville directed the arrangements.
