Born Jan. 23, 1920 in Lee County, Va., she was the daughter of Kin and Ada (Greene) Stapleton. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Gibson, Patty Miles and Wanda Lockhart, all of Noblesville; brother, Edward Pete Stapleton of Indianapolis; sisters, Ruby Minton of Kentucky, Ardith Bryson of Virginia, Goldie Greene of Virginia, Lela Wardell of Virginia, Mossie Iudica of New Jersey, Anna Lou Stapleton of Florida and Virgie Nelson of Florida; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Richard Ridings in 2002. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St. in Noblesville. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions may be made to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
