  	Winfield Courier Winfield, Kansas Saturday, May 12, 1956 page 1 Jesse Ridings Dies Friday Evening at Home. Jesse Ridings, 87, died at his home, 1410 E. 1st, at 6:30 p.m., Friday. Final rites will be conducted at Morris Funeral Home at 2 p.m., Monday with Rev. Frank Weigle in charge. Burial will be in Highland cemetery. Mr. Ridings was born Aug. 23, 1868, at Scotchgove, Iowa, the son of James and Charlotte Ridings. He came to Kansas when 16 years of age, living in Abilene. He followed residence in Abilene with a move to Sumner county. In 1903 he moved from Sumner county to Dexter and from Dexter he moved to Winfield in 1929. He was married on Feb. 12, 1907, to Frances Elizabeth Seaton, who died on March 13, 1954. Mr. Ridings was a member of the Baptist church. He was the last of nine children. Survivors include a son, Harvey L., Winfield; a daughter, Mrs. Esther Olmstead, Phoenix, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Gary and Nila Olmstead, both of Phoenix.
