He was formerly employed at Flashfold Carton Corp. Ray is survived by his daughter, Gidget (Will) Bodenheimer of Fort Wayne; step-children, Tammy Carpenter of Lafayette, and Sherman Ray Brown of Fort Wayne; brother, Earl Mayes of New Tazwell, TN; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Mayes in 1999; and brothers, Ted, Charlie, Hubert, Ralph, and Floyd. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 at E. Harper & Son Funeral, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling three hours before the service. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven.
