Sr., 77 year old resident of Duff, Tenn., Route 1, died suddenly at his home yesterday at 8 a.m. He was born in Goins, Tenn., to son of the late David and Maurine Tolliver Ridings. He was married to Miss Dora Jane Hopper on December 17, 1905. He was a member of the UMWA, Fonde Local Union 1905. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Middlesboro Lodge number 298. He was last employed by the Clear Fork Coal Company at Fonde and retired from mining 12 years ago. He had lived at Duff for the past 14 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dora Jane Ridings, Duff, Tenn., Route 1; sons Clarence Ridings of Cumberland Gap, Eugene Ridings of Bellingham, Wash. Andrew J Ridings of Independence, Mo.; daughters, Mrs. Lee Walker of Duff, Mrs. Mildred McCulley of Middlesboro and Mrs. Dewey Davis of Adrian. Mich.; brother Crockett Ridings of Tazewell; 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the Cawood Funeral Home. Cawood Funeral Home in charge.
