  The death certificate for William Coffman's brother James, shows his mother's maiden name to be Coats. Some source have the maiden name as Holt. Some trees have Jane Galloway since a William Coffman married a Jane in Arkansas in 1851. Does not make sense Date: Fri, 7 Aug 1998 17:13:59 EDT Hello, I'm new to the list and looking for a ggg grandmother. Unfortunately, I only have a name and no birth or death dates. Her name is Jane Coats, she was from Tn. Her Husband's name was William Coffman or Kauffman also of Tn. One of their son's names was William Isac Coffman or Kauffman born Jun. 14, 1860 in Tn. His dod : Apr. 10, 1948. He married Sarah Jane Kearley in Va. When they moved from Va, the story says he changed his surname to Coffman. This is all I have on these relations. Would love to hear from anyone who may have info. Thank you! Diana
