  	MRS. EMMA S. NEWMAN 1979 Mrs. Emma S. Newman, 70, of Jonesville, died Thursday in the Lee County Community Hospital after a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of Lee County and a member of the Jonesville First United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Chris C. Newman; one son, Bobby L. Newman, Virginia Beach, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley George, Suffolk, Va.; one brother, Charles Stapleton, Jonesville; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Parsons, Charlotte Courthouse, VA., Mrs. Ruth Hall, Jonesville, and Mrs. Ann Hibbert, Arcadia, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Williams officiating. Burial was held in the Newman cemetery.
