- TOLLIVER, HAZEL HOPPER - age 87 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2002. "She openeth her mouth with wisdom and in her tongue is the law of kindness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Proverbs 31:26 & 28.
She was born in Tazewell, Tenn. A member of Bible Way Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian, loving mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by parents, Harrison and Elsie Keck Hopper; husband, Julius D. Tolliver; son in law, Dennis L. Hodson; daughters, Maggie Joyce and Linda Gail; brother, Harley Hopper; sisters, Opal Kelley and Alma McNeeley.
She is survived by daughters and sons in law, Wanda and Chas Ed Moore, Gertie and Leo "Doodle" Moore; daughter, Martha Burchfield and Beverley Hodson; former son in law, Bill Burchfield; sisters, Shirley Myers of Osgood, Ind., Wilma Ping Versailles of Ind.; brother, Lee Vonnie Hopper, Panama City, Fla.; grandchildren, Jamie Moore Bates and husband, Don "Doobie" Todd Burchfield and wife, Karen, Chuck Moore and wife, Valerie, Kristie Burchfield Meredith and husband, Spencer, April Hodson Vittitoe and husband, Chris, Bart Hodson; great grandchildren, Drew and Katie Bates, Brittani and Heath Moore, Logan James, Lakyn Meredith, Ensley Grace Vittitoe; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Ye Have Done Unto Me Ministry, c/o Ball Road Baptist Church, 6323 Ball Rd. Knoxville, Tenn. 37931. Family and friends will meet Sunday April 28, 2002 at Lynnhurst Cemetery at 2:45 p.m. for a 3 p.m. graveside service. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Burchfield, Chuck Moore, Bart Hodson, Don Bates, Spencer Meredith and Chris Vittitoe. Weaver Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
