  	The death angel visited the home of B. B. Hopper on Monday evening, July 23rd, 1917, at 6:30 o'clock, and claimed for its victim his kind and loving wife and mother of the home, Vina Hopper. At the time of her death she was 48 years and 27 days old*. She was the daughter of Wm. and Nancy Williams, deceased, and was married to B. B. Hopper on March 5, 1891. To this union were born six children, one of them having preceded her to the grave. Those left to mourn her death are a husband, B. B. Hopper; four daughters, Mrs. W. H. Williams of Corbin, Mrs. J. E. Jones, of Boreing, Misses Maggie and Mamie Hopper; a son, Master Tilford Hopper; one granddaughter, Leetha Lee Williams; a brother and four sisters, A. H. Williams, Mesdames Patience Chesnut, Barbara Smith, Nancy Hale and Frances Whitacre. She had been ill for four months, first taking pneumonia fever, and then an abscess formed in her side and caused her death. She united with the Baptist church at Robinson Creek in 1998(sic) and lived a devoted Christian until death. In her death the church has lost one of its most highly esteemed members, the community a kind and loving neighbor, her husband a kind and loving wife and her children one of their best earthly friends, but our loss is her eternal gain. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev David Asher in the presence of a host of relatives and friends after which her remains were laid to rest in the Williams Cemetery to await the resurrection morning. Mother is now sleeping the blessed sleep from which none ever awoke to weep. So let us live that when death comes, we can meet dear mother on the other shore, where the parting comes never more.
