| 4653 | Some reference to Nancy Jane birth mention Mt Airy located in Wythe County, VA In 1811, Martin Staley transferred land here to his son Valentine. A year later, his son formed the town of Mount (Mt.) Airy, sometimes referred to as Staleytown. The tract was divided into about 72 lots, including Main Street, Cross Street, and a public square. Following Valentine Staley's death in 1817, his wife and children successfully petitioned the General Assembly to sell more lots. With the establishment of a nearby railroad center at what became Rural Retreat and an attack on Mount Airy by Federal troops during the Civil War, Mount Airy ceased to exist about 1875. https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=44955 | Ridings, Nancy Jane (I1309)

| 4655 | Son of Terry Toliver and Lucinda Evans Toliver. Husband of Polly Bailey Tolliver, nicknamed "Pop." Brother of Malkijah J. Tolliver, nicknamed "Kige." The two brothers, Lige and Kige, lived near each other lifelong. That fact has often caused people to think of them as twins, with their rhyming names and similar appearance in photographs. Their cemetery markers show two different birth dates, and U.S. Census records show different ages for Lige and Kige. Lige died 10 years before his brother. A brief death notice for Lige in the Lexington paper ran under the title, "Farmer Drops Dead." It says he was in the Post Office near home when he suddenly died (age 69). It describes Elijah as one of the early settlers of Bledsoe, KY and says he was related to most of his neighbors. Several marriage records of weddings performed in Bledsoe, Harlan County, KY list Elijah J. Tolliver as the Justice of the Peace who performed the wedding. A written family story says that in 1862 Terry and Lucinda Toliver along with Lige and their other children settled on the right fork of Rubin's Branch (near the area now known as Bledsoe). It says they came via the Cumberland Gap from Tennessee. The Tollivers previously lived in Union County, TN and Grainger County, TN. | Tolliver, Elijah Jasper (I6147)

| 4680 | Stella Mae Capps Mason-Sgourakis, 78, passed away peacefully at her earthly home on June 21, 2019 and is now in her Heavenly home walking the streets of pure gold. Stella was born on July 17, 1940 in Middleboro Kentucky; she was a 1958 Graduate of Bell County High School in Pineville, Kentucky. She married Raymond Mason on July 9, 1959, and they moved to Fort Wayne, IN in 1966. Jesus has placed an incredible crown on jewels upon her head, and of course her nail polish and earrings match. She was met at the pearly gates by the love of her life, Raymond Mason, whom she has waited forty years to be reunited with. Stella was an incredible lady who loved the Lord more than anything. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into her heart at the age of 7 and found so much comfort following the Lord. She often said she would not have survived the loss of her husband if it wasn't for her Faith and her daughter. She brought so much joy, laughter, and comfort to the world. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Stella retired in 1995 from Continental Grain Company (Wayne Feeds) after 29 years of service. She also retired from Fort Wayne Rehabilitation Hospital in 2010 after 13 years of service. Stella, not one to ever stop, worked at H&R Block as a client service professional for the past 7 years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory and try to live without her, her only child and loving daughter Kimberly Ann Mason-Waikel and her favorite son-in-law Brian. Her most prized treasure and source of pure joy, her grandson, Kaleb Nicholas Waikel. Her "bonus" grandsons who she was so proud of and loved like her own, Andrew Isiaah Waikel and Jacob Allen Waikel. Her "bonus" great grandchildren Emily and Eli Waikel. Her brothers Ottis (Darlene) Capps of Harlan KY, Carl Ray (Donna) Capps of Ewing, VA, her only sister Mary "Skeet"(Maxwell) Southern of Middlesboro, KY, sister-in-laws Gladys Phillips, Jackie Barton, and Peggy Capps, and three nieces and eight nephews. She also leaves behind many friends that will miss her dearly, especially her dear friends Wanda McCue and Peggy Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents Esco and Nellie Capps, Brothers Charles "Pat" Frye, Esco "June" Capps Jr., Calvin Capps, nephews Charles B. Frye and Gary Lynn Carter and niece Sharon Frye. | Capps, Stella Mae (I6530)

| 4685 | Susan's marriage to Henry Cinnamon is questionable. The 1870 Claiborne Co TN census shows Susan Ridings still at home and a Henry Sinnamon living next door married to a Susan. Some researcher have Lucy and Susan Ridings as the some person and married to Reuben Standifer or Henry Cinnamon. I believe Lucy Ridings was married to Henry Cinnamon. I have no information on Susan. She was last seen on the 1870 TN census Neither Susan nor Lucy , I believe were married to Reuben Standifer. Note: a Reuben Standifer married Lucy Cinnamon in 1932. | 4691 | The date of death is from his death certificate. His gravemarker shows Oct 8, 1933. The birth certificate does not show a date of birth but it does show his age as 64 years/6 months/20 days which would resolve to 18 Mar 1869. The 1870/1880 census shows him borm in abt 1867 Asked if she remembered Henry Coffman, his granddaughter Vida Hale Pope said yes she did. She remembered him as being very kind and gentle. She could remember when she was very young sitting on his lap and him rocking her. Vida said the story of him being shot while riding horseback was not true. The family could have never afforded a horse. Henry and John Aaron Coffman worked at Bodert Mines which were closed as the depression set in. The two brothers then started working a mine in Pocket. Henry would walk from V.I.C. (a mining camp just outside of St Charles) to Pocket (guessing about 3-4 miles) everyday to work the mine. Henry died shortly after they started up the mine. Vida thought walking in the bad weather may have lead to his death, but from the cause of death on the his death certificate I wouldn't think so. | Coffman, Henry Marion (I144)

| 4693 | The family name is often shown as Musser, a very common name in Smyth Co VA. But since Mercer is used most often for this branch of the family in the census and on his death record, I choose to use that | Mercer, William Mastin (I1190)
