She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Willie and Beatrice Sharp; son, Steven Conrad Sharp; sister, Ruby Pauline Maddox. Survivors: husband, Alvin Lee Winterberg; sons and daughters-in-law, Hank and Brenda Sharp, Mark and Cecilia Winterberg, Sterlin (Rocky) and Tammie Winterberg; daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and Charley Hall, Sarah Paula and Ray Miller; 16 grandchildren, Tamela, Celena, Shane, Amber C., Heather, Steva, Tara, Adam, Amanda, Ashley, Kayla, Amber B., Mark II, Nick, Mary and Jay; seven great-grandchildren, Steven, Celena Beth, Caleb, Matthew, Savannah, Coty, Sarah; and two expected great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Sharon Sterling and Pat, Howard, Randy, Ricky and Starla Sharp; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane and Charlie Shackleford, Maggie Colquitt and Diane and Russ Orr; special friends, Jean Harrell, Carolyn Noel, Clyde Murphy, Mary Miller and Nadene Hampton; and a host of other friends and relatives. Service 11 a.m. Thursday, Mynatt's Chapel, Brother Albert Barlow officiating. Interment Walker Cemetery, Sharps Chapel. Pallbearers: Stanley Wright, Justin Wright, Gary Brown, Jay Miller, Charley Hall, Jimmy Miller. Honorary pallbearers: Gordon Williams, Georgie Miller, Porter Sharp, Allen Breeden, Jimmy Sharp, Scott Breeden. She is loved by so many and will be missed by all. 3352 Woodrow "Woody" Bates, 67 years of age, of Louisville, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, June 9th, 1984 at the Methodist Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Woody was born in Somerset, Kentucky on March 3rd, 1917, son of James and Bertha Sears Bates. He was a retired worker for the Sealtest Milk Company where he had been employed for 40 years. He was also a musician and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Woody was survived by his parents, James and Bertha Bates; his loving wife, Christine John Bates; two sons, Kenneth W. Bates of Louisville, Kentucky and James Woodrow Bates of Somerset, Kentucky; three sisters, Maxine Dorf of Washington, D.C., Jean McCracken of Lexington, Kentucky, and Lena Garner of Murryville, Tennessee; three grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

Visitations were held all day on Monday, June 11th, 1984 at the Ratterman Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky and again on Tuesday, June 12th at the Rock Lick Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky until time of funeral services.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 12th at the Rock Lick Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Vincent officiating.

Burial followed in the Rock Lick Baptist Church Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was a member of Rose Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Union County and had attended Knoxville Primitive Baptist Church for the past several years. Preceded in death by husband, Glen Woods sons, Paris Woods, Odra Woods parents, M.N. and Vesta Hopper Tolliver nine brothers and sisters, Survivors: daughter and son in law, Glenda and Jerry Jones, Knoxville son and daughter in law, Harry and Helen Woods, Homewood, Ala. five grandchildren, Rita Collins, Louisville, Ky., Glen Collins and wife, Casey Collins, Knoxville, Beth Collins, Maynardville, Shawn Woods and wife, April Woods, Austin, TX, Darci Woods, Homewood, Ala. three great grandchildren, Miranda Brantley and husband, Jason Brantley, Lysa Collins, Jonathan Collins sister, Dollie Burns, Rockford several nieces & nephews. Funeral services 2 p.m. Monday, Cooke Mortuary Chapel, Elder Eugene Wilder officiating, with music by the Sherritze Family. Interment Edwards Cemetery, Claiborne County. Pallbearers: nephews. 3355 WOODVILLE - Mary Frances Hanna Bates, 86, long-time resident of Kerrville, passed from this life on Thursday, July 20, 2006, in Woodville, Texas, at a care center.
Born in Paris, Texas, she spent most of her childhood years in North Texas, and then later the Rio Grande Valley. She graduated from Rio Hondo High School and attended college at Kilgore Junior College. She married Russell Richmon Bates in 1939.
Her career included employment with Sears Roebuck and Co. in both Harlingen, Texas, and Kerrville, Texas, as well as Chas. Schreiner Bank. She was manager of Sears Catalog Sales office in Kerrville for a number of years.
She was an active member of the Kerrville Church of Christ for many years, and also with the Livingston Church of Christ in later years. She enjoyed doing volunteer services for the Medina Children's Home, making visits and telephone calls, sewing, baking and traveling.
She was preceded in death by Russell Bates, to whom she was married 43 years.
She is survived by three children, Belva Bellcock of Searcy, Ark., Garon Bates of Livingston, Texas, and Loretta Derrick of League City, Texas; brother, James E. Hanna of Katy, Texas; two sisters, Elizabeth Sottosanti of Kerrville, Texas, and Margaret Clark of Midlothian, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, along with a host of loving friends and neighbors.
She was dearly loved by both sides of the extended family.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Kerrville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2006, in the Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, with interment following at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville.

3361 Zella Mae Toliver Gervais passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the age of 80 years.

Beloved mother of Angela "Dawn" Gervais Perez (Wesley). Daughter of the late Ida Florence Broyles and Arthur Milton Toliver. Sister of the late Loretha O'Mary and Floyd Shelton. Grandmother of Troy Joseph Perez. Great grandmother of Star Perez, Blanka Perrin and Alyssa Perez. Great great grandmother of Elyjah Schexnayder and Sonny Castiel David. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a native of Knoxville, Tennessee and a resident of Marrero, LA for the past 20 years.

Relatives and friends of the family, also Wynhoven Apartments residents are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 1pm. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6pm until 9pm and again on Thursday morning from 10am until 1pm. Interment, Memorial Park Cemetery.

(1908-1998)

Zora B. Howell Plummer, 90, of Portsmouth, died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at a Russell, Ky., hospital.

She was born March 21, 1908, in Lewis County, Ky., a daughter of the late Henry Howell and Rachael Kegley Howell. She was retired from the former Williams Manufacturing Company, was a member of Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union of New Boston, and a member of Eagles Lodge of New Boston and Moose Lodge of Portsmouth.

Surviving are one son, William Plummer of Portsmouth; one daughter, Ruth Arrowood of Portsmouth; one brother, Fred Howell of Portsmouth; one sister, Blanche Leonard of Freemont; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, Don and John Plummer; five brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with the Rev. Quentin King officiating, and interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday.
